Seki Kanetsugu

Booth S970

Description

In the 13th century Mino area of Japan, swordsmith Kanetsugu began making katanas, the Japanese word for a samurai sword. In 1918 the Seki Kanetsugu Knife Company was founded by his descendant, Matsujiro Kawamura. This knife manufacturer has now been around for 100 years, and uses many of the same high quality sword making techniques when producing its knives. To create a knife edge as sharp as a Samurai Sword, they use the clam-edge blade technique, which is one of the unique blade styles of Japanese Samurai Swords. Blending the advanced technology of today with traditional craftsmanship they aim to continue to develop useful, sharp, long-lasting knives that fit into any lifestyle.
