                            About Prairie Dog Co., Ltd.   What’s so different about Prairie Dog Co., Ltd.? Several things. First, the logo and the name of this privately held entity. President and CEO Yoshiyuki Matsuoka named the company after one of his favorite prairie creatures. The reason for this is simple. Prairie dogs live in the wild with their families and groups, helping each other to survive.  Matsuoka thought this image represented his company’s corporate culture and products to a tee. At Prairie Dog, employees help each other, and the products they create are fantastically family friendly.   Founded in Osaka, Japan, in 1993, Prairie Dog Co., Ltd., boasts $20 million in annual sales and looks forward to tremendous growth over the next five years with its expansion into the United States, which officially began at the end of 2007. It was then that Prairie Dog introduced the first Le Patissier cake towel line of products that are 100% cotton, 100% adorable and 100% affordable.   Towel cakes got their start in Japan in January of 2005.  After this successful launch, the company took its products to Europe and decided that the American people might like the line, too. They were right. In late 2007, the first line of cake towels was exhibited at a show in New York. They were a huge hit, selling a substantial amount of product in a few short days!   What’s next for Prairie Dog? The company is bringing eco-friendly, “green” products to the U.S., and they are expected to be even more popular than they already are in Japan and Europe. With growing concerns over our environmental problems, the company offers a great alternative in this line of products by using organic cotton and herbal dying.
