About Airfree: A few years ago an inventor struggled with his son’s allergies to mold and dust mite allergens. Countless trials of various air purifiers did not offer relief to his son. One evening, after seeing his wife sterilizing his youngest son’s baby bottle using high heat, he had an idea: a concept of “boiling” the air at 400ºF to kill germs. The new technology called TSS (Thermodynamic Sterilization System) was quickly tested and proven efficient by independent laboratories and most importantly, by his son. Apart from being efficient, the product had other undeniable competitive advantages: no need for maintenance or changing filters, low energy consumption, completely silent. After an initial reformulation a product was launched with a distinct and awarded design - an idea which right away turned into a business. Airfree was founded in Portugal in 2000 and became a reference in the air purification technology.
